Dwight D. Eisenhower Visitors' Center

Media Production, Theater Film, Year-Long Timelapse, Digitized 16 mm Film

Orange Frame Productions is excited to take part in renewing the Dwight D. Eisenhower Visitors' Center with new immersive media exhibits that showcase one of the greatest engineering feats of all time: The St. Lawrence Seaway.

In the 1950’s, a new era of marine transportation was made possible with the construction of the Seaway’s first seven locks. These incredible structures lift vessels 246 feet above sea level and made non-stop transit possible from the Great Lakes all the way to the Atlantic Ocean - for the first time ever.

In collaboration with Hadley Exhibits Inc. and Trivium Interactive, our team developed films and media experiences that take viewers on an epic journey through the Seaway’s past, present and future, revealing the unimaginable impact this triumph of engineering continues to have on our daily lives.

OF Productions produced a scripted narrative theater film that showcases this incredible feat of engineering, the vast extent of the Seaway’s reach, and how it connects us all.

Our team rigged up an indestructible, blizzard-surviving timelapse unit for an exhibit that allows visitors to scroll through the seasons and see the Seaway in action throughout the course of the year. We also transferred and digitized rare 16 mm footage of the Seaway’s construction, which will be showcased for the first time at the reopened Dwight D. Eisenhower Visitors' Center.
